The Joint-Stock Company "South Kazakhstan Medical Academy" (SKMA) is the leading medical higher education institution in the country, providing educational services in the Kazakhstan market for over 40 years.

JSC "SKMA" prepares specialists in the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals, and engineering-pharmaceutics at the level of secondary technical vocational education (medical college), higher education (bachelor's degree, internship), postgraduate education (master's degree, doctoral studies, residency), and continuous professional development of healthcare personnel (advanced training and retraining of medical and pharmaceutical personnel).

SKMA trains specialists in the educational program of "Nursing" at the following levels: applied bachelor's degree, academic bachelor's degree, and master's degree. In 2020, SKMA underwent specialized accreditation by the Independent Kazakhstan Agency for Quality Assurance in Education for bachelor's and master's programs and aims to develop it at the doctoral level.

SKMA collaborates in the field of medical science, education, and practical healthcare with over 30 leading foreign universities in the near and far abroad based on memoranda of understanding, agreements, and international cooperation agreements, the number of which increases every year. Memoranda of cooperation have been signed with leading universities in Turkey, Spain, Romania, and the United Kingdom. The research directions of SKMA are determined in accordance with the university's potential in priority areas of scientific development, as well as the needs of the region.

The aim of the SKMA is to train highly qualified and competitive specialists with deep theoretical and practical training, professional competencies in the pharmaceutical field.

The main tasks of the department are as follows:

• Preparation of specialists with deep theoretical and practical training, professional knowledge, skills, and abilities that correspond to the state educational standards of the specialty.

• Maximum utilization and development of the accumulated methodological and personnel potential from previous years.

• Development of the creative potential among students and faculty.
